The Swerve

Freedom Calls

I hear them now
Calling out to me
Oh how I wish I could run free!
To be able to run through these hills
Without the weight of the world testing my will
I have to keep going
I have to keep trying
I can’t give up yet
But it’ll be all too easy to give up this bet
This contest forever challenging me
Oh how I always wish it would leave me be
It looks over my shoulder
And breathes down my neck
As if daring me to go
To run
To be free
