The Transit Museum is a wonderful place to go if you are interested in learning about the transportation in the past and what they might be doing in the future. The discovering NY class in NIA got to have a chance to go to the Transit Museum. The first thing we learned about was the past and present maps of the MTA which used to be three different companies. There were a few different maps then you see every day. There was a map dedicated to all of the women who had importance to New York City.
The next exhibit of the Transit Museum was the trains. It was cool to see the trains from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and so on. It is cool though to be able to see the changes in the trains. From the weaved seats to metal seats. Also the difference in ads from ads about you being more attractive to ads being about a milky way candy bar. There was also much art in the museum, there were comic strips, shoes made of maps and drawn maps showing the way New Yorkers see New York City and surrounding states. So if you ever want to learn about past, present and maybe future transportation the Transit Museum is the place to go
