This week we interviewed your fellow K-Pop stans in our school community. We had a fair amount of responses. In this article, we’ve included some of your fellow K-Pop stans’ responses
The first question was “When did you get into K-pop?” For this question, we got 6 responses.
Based on this chart, you can see that 2018 was the most popular year that your fellow K-Pop stans in our school community got into K-Pop. Next, the second most popular year that your fellow K-Pop stans got into K-Pop was 2019. Coming at last, we have a three way tie between 2016, 2017, and 2020.
Our second question was, “How did you get into K-Pop?” There are plenty of ways people could’ve gotten into K-pop. Some of them include from a friend or family member, from youtube, watching someone’s performance of a K-Pop dance, or simply out of curiosity.
From our responses, we came to a conclusion that many people in the I.S 187 community got into K-Pop because of the people around them, like their friends and family. Other people watched K-Pop shows, like Weekly Idol. Additionally, many people got into K-Pop just because they wanted to learn a certain groups’ members’ names. However these beginnings had the same ending, becoming a K-pop stan, and getting sucked into that K-pop hole.
Moving on, our third question was, “Why do you like K-Pop now?” We got an abundance of responses, including that they found K-Pop as a unique genre that has amazing stage presence. Some other responses included that they liked K-Pop because of idols’ personalities and the meanings behind songs.
Our fourth question was “What was the first K-Pop group you’ve ever stanned?” We got a lot of responses from students.
Based on the results from this pie chart, you can see that the majority of your fellow K-Pop stans in the school stanned BTS before they started to stan other groups.
Now, we’ll move on to our personal favorite question, “What is your favorite quote that your ult bias has said?” We got some amazing responses. Our favorite quote that we received was “Those who do not have a dream, it’s okay. It’s okay if you don’t have a dream. You just have to be happy.” This was said by Min Yoongi, Suga, of BTS. Secondly, our next favorite quote was “We actually all had six packs, but because it’s summer, the chocolate has melted” This was also said by Min Yoongi, Suga, of BTS.
These are just a few of the many quotes we’ve received from your fellow K-Pop stans in the IS 187 community.
Our 6th question was, “Which group is your ult group? What made that group stand out to you?”
It seems that many people liked BTS. They took over this question with a total of 71.4% of all the answers. Blackpink and Dreamcatcher tied in 2nd with 14.3% of the answers each.
In conclusion, the responses we received were great! It was a pleasure to be able to interview everyone!
